Creeping up the backstairs
Slinking into dark stalls
Shapeless and slumped in bath chairs
Furtive eyes peep out of holes
She has many guises
She'll do what you want her to
Playing dead and sweet submission
Cracks the whip deadpan on cue……………………….

Peekaboo - no idea who sings it.

I'll be vigilant, I'll be silent
Yes, no one will know
Something for nothing
A toast on your grave……………….

reply

‘73, great rock opera

Laugh and say I'm green
I've seen things you'll never see
Talk behind my back
I'm off the beaten track
I'll take on anyone
Ain't scared of a bloody nose
Drink 'til I drop down
With one eye on my clothes

And our figurehead
Is not what she seems

Oh god save history
god save your mad parade
Oh lord god have mercy
All crimes are paid

I heard about your lessons but lessons are so cold
I know about this school
Little girl from Cherry Lawn, how can you be so bold
How did you know that golden rule

I think of all the education that I've missed
But then my homework was never quite like this……………………

*She may get wooly
Young girls that do get wooly
‘Cause of all the stress
Yeah…
When they get wooly
Try a little tenderness …yeah…

-Bonus if you name the movie this is from..

I think this is "Try A Little Tenderness." I'm not sure who did it originally, but I think Kris Kristofferson did a popular version of this song. The movie that this was featured in is "Bull Durham," one of my all-time favorite movies (great scene on the bus with Tim Robbins' and Kevin Costner's characters featuring the lyrics to this song! 😃).

Nuke was such a doofus, but he had that live arm! ….well, at least the character did, or we were to suspend belief that he did. I think I read somewhere that Tim Robbins is a lefty , which explains why his windup looks a bit awkward. But I’ll give Ron Shelton & Co. a pass for otherwise providing a great baseball movie, definitely one of my faves…..

First of all, it is so awesome to see you posting again here!

Yes, I just love "Bull Durham." I didn't know that about Tim Robbins..yes, no wondered he looked so awkward pitching! 😃 It's one of those movies, though, that I'll "suspend my disbelief" because the story is so good. Ron Shelton knocked this one out of the park.

I never thought I could feel this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it
I don't know where we went wrong
But the feeling's gone
And I just can't get it back

I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity…………….
