will the camera phone kill ghost/paranormal movies??

cause there is nothing to see.

I know game cameras killed Bigfoot. You can take game cameras these days and walk a mile in the forest, set it up and it will take motion night and day photos and video. Some cameras even send the images by text to your phone as they are taken. These cameras are everywhere out there now so if there was any doubt before, it’s gone now.

Ghost movies are probably the most boring types of horror movies out there. A few exceptions e.g "Lake Mungo"

reply

Haunted house movies are the most boring. And clichéd. Door closes itself! Lights turn on and off rapidly! Cupboard rattles! TV displaying static signal!

What a lazy moviemaking.

reply

Couldn't agree more.

reply

Do you mean the ghost hunter shows or actual horror films? If you mean horror films than all you have to do is set it pre camera phone days.

reply

These are the best to me. Poltergeist comes to mind.

Mobile phones, camera phones, the internet etc does make everything seem less critical. "What is that strange symbol that has appeared on the wall? I'll Google it! Hmmm.. better set up a CCTV cam so I can see if anyone has been hanging around outside. Phone lines cut, lucky I have a cell phone!"

Before all of those things it was all more scary.

reply

Totally agree. Also it removes having to make excuses during suspenseful scenes such as the phone battery being conveniently low or there being no service. The ol' land line suddenly ringing scaring the character also becomes a thing again 😄

reply

That would terrify a millennial actually.

"Now listen... once upon a time, when you were out, you really were out... no cell phones, no internet and phones were secured to a wall with a rotary dial... and.. they didn't have cameras! Oh and if you took a photo, you would have to take the film in to be processed... no, selfies and photos of your dinner were not common back then..."

reply

But now they use camera phones to film paranormal movies, so I would say no. There will always be people who are scared by the paranormal.

reply

Only if it kills the human imagination.
