I live 10 minutes drive from the beach. Nice soft sand.
I once lived in a seaside down in Ireland called dun laoghaire, no beach, but a beautiful walk along the coastline.
About 2 hours away.

An hour at least but there are several beaches on Jersey Shore. They're all alright and draw a varied crowd. You must pay to get on them which is a drawback.
