If we're talking about the 80's, then their looks were certainly a component of why they were leading men, meaning that the majority considered them hot. I can appreciate that tastes vary, but ugly they weren't!
I'm in my 50's and still hot. The attraction thing stays in line with your age, men in there 40s, 50s and 60s are now attractive to me. Very much so.
