shareeffete european synth-wimpiness is not my favourite style, but i do like a few erasure tracks. i wouldn't put this at or near the top of their songs that i like, but kinda dig it.

I have listened to most of their other hits, and I think the rest definitely sound like european synth wimpiness, an maybe this does too, but I dunno it just sounds like the perfect blend of notes. Not my normal type of stuff either but what can I say it just hits a nerve for me.
Kinda same with someone like Depeche Mode. Not super crazy about most of their stuff but Enjoy The Silence is something I will never get tired of.
this is one of the areas where i part with a lot of people, but i absolutely hate depeche.
even though it's not my favourite style, i can dig erasure because at least they have a bit of camp & fun & silliness.
one of my favourite british pop acts is the pet shop boys. they have their share of morose, sad songs, but they earn those moments by balancing them with frothy, silly pure pop moments that fill me with joy.
i know people love them, but i cannot take depeche mode's self-seriousness.
I have heard plenty of people say that, and maybe if I heard interviews with them and knew more about them I would agree, but I really don't know that much about them. Other than I think is Personal Jesus is a borefest and there is that famous KMFDM rumor.
They could definitely be self absorbed pricks but that song...
I mean hey Michael Jackson is a pretty giant pos but you who doesn't like at least ONE MJ song?
