You get use of a time machine. You can use it for a week. Go anywhere you want. But you will die in 5 years as a result (time travel weakens your body.)
Would you do it? You're allowed to warn people of your present about the future, but can't make any changes to the past (as it will destroy the timeline you left from.)
I would continue traveling forward until I reach the era where there is a cure for the condition.
shareI don't think I would. What if I find out civilization as we know it ends in 60 years? Unless you use the example of killing someone like Hitler who would be the person responsible for the apocalypse, I'm not sure what good it would do to come back and warn people - they would think you are crazy.
Of course the real twist would be if you came back to kill a Hitler, were successful but put on trial and executed in 5years for the crime.
If you can’t alter the past what’s the point?
