Are McDonald's Chicken Nuggets basically Chicken Tempura?

I read that Micky Dee's Nuggets are breaded with a Tempura coating. Is it safe to say they are basically Chicken Tempura?

I don't think McD's batter has eggs in it. Tempura batter uses eggs.

I like McNuggets. Are they high quality chicken strips - no, but I think they can be a quick tasty lunch - especially with sweet sour sauce.

I read somewhere that McDonald's wanted to make their nuggets similar to General Tsos chicken. Which I would say are totally different then McDonald's nuggets.
