Yesterday evening I got a phone call from someone claiming to be my son. The caller had my name right, but unfortunately my son died when he was 10 years old!
Do you ever get phone calls like this??

shareMost likely a scam caller. They will pretend to be someone. A woman I know, her parents lost a good chunk of change from a call like that. They knew things, it was a from "their grandchild" who had been arrested, had their phone confiscated, and please deal with this lawyer. There were phone calls back and forth and everything. They just didn't think to call to make sure. I don't think they googled the so called law firm either.
One should always have a password for scams like these. My grandma, and my parents, who are seniors, know to ask for the password if I ever call them looking for money.

Yes. Me ,my Mother and Mother in Law have all gotten calls supposedly from my Son in Mexico needing money. It's a scam. But it scared the shit out of my Moms.
shareIt's scary where your son's details ended up for this to happen. It's not like he had a credit history to be picked up on. You could inform the police but they probably won't care.

My Dad got a call from one of these once, claiming to be me. It didn't go far.
