StoneKeeper's Super Awesome Movie Guessing Game: I recommend THIS Movie #1070 (The Hate U Give (2018) Winner: FredBurroughs)

I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that connects your guess with the movie I have in mind.

Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve Cabbage Patch Kids.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints and 13 guesses, the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint.
- Maximum 2 guesses per player per hint.
- Can't edit a guess once posted. Delete ONLY.

It's a truly inspirational popcorn classic. Lots more emotionally charged in these trying times. Maybe that'll be the thing from now on... a non-white cop explaining the actions of all the other cops. Who am I kidding - we're talking about movies here, people...

I looked back at the last month or so of this game. With less than 26,000 votes, I figured The Hate U Give was not used before.

Today, a peaceful protest group marched on the street where I live (and half of them were white.) The killing of black George Floyd by a white cop has triggered rioting and protests all across the USA. This is the perfect film to watch, in reflection.

Good call. Its a tough time. I hate to talk about reality here because its my safe space but yes its really hard right now. I could go into a rant but I wont. Honestly it wont change anything. We have been dealing with this problem for so many years. You'd think in 2020 this wouldn't be a problem.

This was my second start. I won on my first guess ever posted on Saturday for The Man in the White Suit (1951). THAT was harder, since I didn't know all the things I could use for hints. I didn't post "Hint added" then, as I was just trying to keep up with all the guesses. (This is a slow computer too.)

Everyone encouraged me to go for it after the first win. I thought it was fun to pick films that were fairly regarded in their time, but not huge box office hits. I wanted to see how fast someone could guess them. People may want to watch the films from these guessing games, after hearing about them.

I've been on this site for a few years, but rarely looked at General Discussion until recently.

You posted the winner and then deleted it? If so, I was trying to check every guess before posting the next hint. This computer is slow (Pentium 4 with 1.5 GB memory.)
