Post a song that was popularized by another group but was actually written and performed by someone else. No Carole King songs please because she only performed after the fact.

Wow I didn't know that Soft Cell's was a cover. Another case where the cover is better.

I didn’t know about it for the longest time and I do agree that Soft Cell’s cover is better and more enjoyable.
