Quiz Show. Definitely bland and intriguing.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot (2018)

reply

That doesn't seem like a bland title. It seems like a pretty good title to me.

This is an intriguing title.

Minority Report (2002)

The title is very ambiguous and didn't attract me at all. I saw it on the recommendation of a friend and loved it.

reply

I’ve not seen it but it apparently isn’t about racial profiling.

reply

Not at all. The title isn't even explained for half the movie. I definitely recommend it. :)

reply

I actually was turned off to it because of Tom but I see it’s on Netflix so I may watch it this weekend.

reply

Blasphemy!

reply

Me watching it or avoiding it because of Tom?

reply

You blasphemous
anti-Tom-ite

reply

O (2001) - some modern adaption of Othello, I believe.

reply

The Room (03)

It should have been called 'Dorks awkwardly tossing footballs in front of totally unconvincing backgrounds while creepily discussing their sex lives'

Actually, my movie title pet peeve was a trend that started in the early 2010s, maybe even earlier, where they would use very stupid, 1-word titles that often didn't really describe the film at all. It was as if the script-writers had gotten really lazy and just grabbed a random word because they didn't wanta bother thinking more than they had to in putting down a title for their stories. Pathetic and annoying, really. I'll use some examples:

Frozen - Disney's take on "The Snow Queen"
Epic - Fern Gully for Generation Z and the iGeneration
Crash - Racism in L.A, anthology style
Avatar - Dances with Wolves in Space

You get the picture.
