Original or 1990 remake?

I think the remake holds up great and I like it better. Tony Todd is awesome in it.

THE ORIGINAL IS THE VANGUARD...AN ICON...SAVINI DOES A TREMENDOUS JOB WITH THE REMAKE,BUT IT FALLS A BIT SHY OF REALLY COMPETING WITH THE GRANDFATHER OF ALL ZOMBIE FLICKS.

I like both, but I'll go with the original. I prefer it's bleak ending and the low budget, late sixties, kind of grungy aesthetic of that one.

Also, like others have pointed out, it basically created the modern zombie sub genre.

Oh I will gladly bow to the original as the beginnings of the modern zombie. I love the original, but I feel like the remake has better acting and as a Tony Todd fan it really can't be beat.

The actors in the remake are super annoying. Especially the guy who plays Harry and the blonde chick.
