Do you know anyone who doesn't watch movies?
My mom. The last movie she went to was the Blair Witch Project in 1996. I just can't wrap my head around that. Spends hours watching the friggin QVC channel, but never a movie.

shareIn 1996??? Was she the one who found the tapes or something??!!
shareMy brother and I convinced her to bring us and a friend. I remember her being horrified about the language haha.
shareHonestly, no. Or if I do, I don't know them well enough to know they don't.
Although I have to say I was somewhat mesmerised by watching that QVC video of a pressure cooker/Instant Pot. Still.
What do you mainly use the Instant Pot for? I'm not really into kitchen gadgets, but I'll make an exception for this one since it has so many dual functions.
shareI don't have an Instant Pot, that is the brand name. They're just pressure cookers, and that I do have and have recently unearthed from my storage. Same exact functions as an Instant Pot.
Anyway, they excel at making cheap cuts of meat tender, delicious, and falling off the bone in record time. Also making stews, soups, chilis, and that sort of thing but can also be used for much more. You can sautée, steam veggies, braise, and almost anything else you want to do.
Last night I watched a video where a woman cooked a New York strip steak in one, although I don't think that's the best use of them and although I *might* try one just for the heck of it, will most likely stick to either grilling or pan frying steaks.
I was very impressed to see a demo of someone cooking 5 lbs of *frozen* chicken wings in 15 minutes. All falling off the bone tender, looking yum.
Do regular pressure cookers have a crock pot setting? The Instant Pot also has a yogurt making setting if thats your thing.
Yes, please stick to grilling or pan drying. The thought of a super overcooked NY Strip makes me cringe.
No, they don't need to since you can program them to cook at whatever temp you want, for however long you want. I saw Instant Pots have a yogurt setting but I don't eat it very often.
Ha ha, you'd have cringed for sure at this video. It was how to cook well done NY strip. It did look very tender, and even reasonably juicy, but no thanks.
Yes. A previous flatmate of mine hated watching movies. She claimed not to have the patience but the irony was that she would spend hours, sometimes days, laying around on the sofa watching every reality TV series available. I spent very little time in the living room of that house lol
shareI don't know anyone like that, but I did have a friend who never listened to music. It was weird. Just didn't see the appeal. He would drive in his car and have nothing on the radio ever, even for long drives.
shareI'm not aware of anyone I know who doesn't watch movies. But I readily admit that I haven't been to a movie theater in decades. Rude audience members who talked through the entire movie was the reason I swore off going to the theater. Once VCRs, then DVD players, and eventually streaming came about, there's really been no reason to go to a theater.
shareSame here. The last movie I saw in the theater was "I am Legend (2007)"
