Should an 18 year old be charged as a sex offender if they have consensual sex with 16 year old?
15 years old? 14 years old?
And no, this question isn't about me.

YES.YES.ABSO FUCKING LUTELY YES....NOT ABOUT YOU?THEN CALL THE COPS.
shareNo, absolutely not!!
shareThis was the very same case that was brought up in 'The Economist' a few years back.
The title was 'America's unjust sex laws'
It gave the case of an 18 year old senior in high school who was caught getting a BJ from a 16 year old junior in school.
Since the presiding judge had NO LEEWAY in sentencing the young man, he was convicted and spent 8 years on a list of sex offenders.
The mag agrues that the 'rachet effect' from politicans has hancuffed judges.
In our state it wouldn't be. The law states two years difference when one of the parties is under 18.
shareI think it depends on a lot of factors but I do think people are too quick to judge these days.
So no..
...at 13/14 years I met a 17/18 year old that turned out to be the most thoughtful guy I'd have for a long time but he did initially think I was older. It wasn't a mistake for me.
At 16 I had the interest of 24-30 year olds. That does sort of set off some red flags..and it did for me too then.. but the 24 year old wisely decided to wait and the 29/30 year olds were just extremely immature. Even I could tell that.
An older man interested in girls that age is the real problem.
