It's time for China to stop eating exotic animals
Toronto got hit by SARS in 2003 and I am afraid the coronavirus is next.

It comes from all the bullshit generated by their ideas about medicine.
They must suffer from a tremendous amount of anxiety and need a solution for everything. Back in ancient times there was no medicine, or maybe just a little, that actually worked so tons of charlatans made money off of fake treatments. That same thing used to happen in the use with "snake oil" and other fake cures but somehow we beat most of that and it's over.
China is likely filled with people with no education or education in a specific thing and nonsense endures.
The saddest thing I saw was a bear in a cage so small he can't move around. It had something to do with his gall bladder and what can be derived from it.
shareBear gall bladders go for a very high price.
It was an issue here many years ago where people were killing bears and selling them to China.

But...how can you make ratatouille without rats?
Because the Chinese think the swim bladder of the Totoaba fish is medicinal, or at least ostentatious, they're willing to pay insane amounts of money to get swim totoaba bladders from the Gulf of California to the Chinese black market. Overfishing of the totoaba is not only reducing their numbers to endangered status, it's killing off the last few Vaquita, the world's smallest whale species.
There are maybe 15 vaquita whales left in the wild, and efforts to take them into captivity have failed, and have been abandoned. The species is probably doomed, due to human greed and a willingness to throw away money on stupid fads.

what nonsense
shareNone of this stuff is going to wipe us out Amigo, NOT EVER
We are too tough
They tried to scare us with swine flu, bird flu, that mosquito bite virus that gave little babies tiny heads and a bunch of other fake 'epidemics...'
Coronavirus just makes me want another beer
Another beer is usually the answer to everything
Man, they can even treat the HIV now and THAT was the scariest of them all
We'll be just fine, it's all bullshit to fill up the nonsense 5 O'Clock hour when they aren't pushing political crap on us
Awww man, I thought there was going to be more room to move around soon!
shareYeah and what about WWII? We won that but ooooh they just had to report on it day in day out for the duration as if it was going to destroy us all. Fake war!
shareA World War with hundreds of millions dead or displaced is a great deal worse than a bad bug silly
shareBut we, the US won it in spite of all the bullshit about how the Empire Of Japan was such a threat to us. And the Germans, even though they were in Europe and not one company of Nazi soldiers ever set foot on US soil, they made movies about them at the time and still did today. Only a few thousand americans died. Fewer even than in the UK.
And yet the media in the states went on and on about it. It probably would have been evev fewer US dead if they hadn't made such a big deal about it. No wonder those guys died. They were whipped up into hysteria by all the excessive media coverage.
The Empire of Japan and The Third Reich were existential threats to The States
Only a few thousand Americans died?
You may be off on that number
And the US waited until they attacked and declared war on it.
So you’re saying that left untackled, this outbreak is no threat? Or does the very existence of a country need to be threatened before mobilising to contain it?
Compared to the tens of millions of the enemy dead, and even the casualties of the UK with only a fraction of the population, US fatalities (virtually no civilians) are almost negligible.
Applying the same idle, half-baked logic as the covid deniers, the US was always going to win and come out of it better off, so the media coverage must have been unnecessary scaremongering.
More concern was shown for the anticipated “millennium bug” than some people want shown for this actual deadly virus.
Don't mention the war: -

What they do in their own country is their business. I wish the West would close the doors on immigration though because that is going to be the real killer to our countries when people from affected countries get through.
shareYou’d have to close the doors to business travel and tourism too. And not just restrict nationals but everyone who visited an affected country within the past 14 days. Even the flight bans are ineffective. A guy from Germany could fly to China, then to the Japan then go to the US. He never flew from China directly to the US but he is still a potential carrier. Then there is the whole shipping industry to restrict too which causes more costly customs regulations and delays that will make everything more expensive.
