No people of color NOT nominated for an Oscar
I'm getting sick to my stomach about how there are NO people of color nominated. I say stop crying and get over it.
shareI'm getting sick to my stomach about how there are NO people of color nominated. I say stop crying and get over it.
shareThose two sentences are opposites.
shareThere's no quota. If you make the cut you make the cut. It's that simple.
shareYes.
And for the record, Cynthia Erivo did make the cut as she received an Oscar nomination in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in Harriet.

Same with women and other "minorities".
The question is have "people of colour" done anything Oscar worthy this year?
So if no people of color were not nominated, then that means that people of color were nominated. What's the problem?
shareLast year was filled with diversity quota Oscars, so there's not much pressure this year. You still have some quota nominations, like the black chick of Harriet, but other than that, the majority of nominations are merit-oriented.
Don't worry, though, pressure to be woke will increase. Next year, or in a couple of years, you'll have another ceremony filled with quota Oscars. 😊
Whoa! Nasty.
Is kuku an abbreviation of klu klux by any chance?
Actually, it's the abbreviation of kukuxumuxu. Not my problem woke see ku klux everywhere 😂
And it's not nasty. You ask for quota Oscars, don't say it's nasty to call them quota Oscars, because that's what they are.
I thought it was nasty that you insinuated that Cynthia Erivo was only nominated because she is black, and then followed it by saying every other nominee was chosen on merit.
I didn't ask for quotas on anything.
Whats a woke?
Then don't worry. I was not insinuating it. I was saying it out loud. 😊
shareHave you seen the film?
shareNope.
And before you say something like 'but heeey, you need to see iiiit, because it's suuuuper diveeersee', I'm sorry, there's better movies to watch. Like the asylum ones, for example.
Right now, most of nominations for blacks and other privileged ethnic groups are quota-oriented. So, by default, they're quota nominations and/or Oscars.
Some cases, they'll deserve it. The problem with having so many quota Oscars lately is that the default status for a black nomination is quota. You want to argue she's something more than a quota nomination, the burden of proof lies on you.
I haven't seen or heard anything that suggests that there's something in this movie beyond the usual woke politics. To compare, check De Niro: no matter how controversial are his political views, most conversations are about who was the best in the Irishman, him, Pacino or Pesci. That shows a great performance. And by the way, he hasn't even been nominated.
We see the world in different ways. To me Cynthia’s nomination is no more noteworthy than Antonio Banderas’s.
So your theory is they are working under a system of quotas but all collectively decided to stop that this year, except for the one black person nominated, we’ll let that one slip in so nobody catches on to us?
Crazytown 🤪

I don’t know fella, one day I’m hearing the Oscars are racist, the next day they’re pandering with quotas.
I think we should all just enjoy the ceremony for the shower of shit it will surely be.
I hate it when no people of colour are not nominated, especially when there have been no films or performances not worthy of not being nominated.
No?
Just to be truthful, I haven't been to the movies in years. Our local theaters were torn down and it's a 45 minute ride to the nearest theater. Not worth it to me. I have rented some movies on Redbox though.
The last movies I saw in the theater were the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movies. So I am not exactly qualified to comment on recent films.
What I AM qualified to comment on though is the pathetic, hypocritical Hollywood a-holes who run the business! They lecture US, i.e., flyover America about hw RACIST we are. Yet they don't cast minorities in THEIR product. They don't nominate minorities for THEIR awards. They are all totally full of sh** phonies and they won't get any more of my money.
