I just watched Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) and I was thinking of other really good made for TV horror movies. Here are a few that I think are great:

Salem’s Lot (1979)
The Woman in Black (1989)
Don’t Go to Sleep (1982)

Does anyone remember the pizza cutter scene from Don’t Go to Sleep? That scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

Someone's Watching Me! (1978) by John Carpenter is quite effective for a TV movie.

I have vague memories of Gargoyles from when I was very young, guess this was shown on TV reruns. The scene where they ride through the desert in a convoy and the gargoyles attack in slow motion Is what I think of. I need to give this one another viewing 👍

Fun fact: Gargoyles was the first project of special effects legend Stan Winston.
