I'd assume the crowd has gotten the point by now and our lovely noobies could be politely warned by any of us...

It's still pinned because I am still waiting for 5 posts in a row that warranted being deleted.

If the point was made, we wouldn't be getting so many trivial or unremarkable posts being reported.

I'll even drop it to 4 posts in a row. I already came down from 10 to 5.

Imagine how annoying it is for us, Hownos? You were even shown an example of the type of reports we have to deal with daily and those types are the majority we receive.

I'd bet a lot of them are accidental reports

Reply, edit, delete and share are all scrunched together on my phone and I've sometimes tapped on them by accident myself

For the record I've never once intentionally reported anything (frankly I'd rather just deal with things myself, which has gotten me into Mod trouble before lol)
but I'm certain that I accidentally reported two posts over the last 2 1/2 years...Both times were posters I really enjoy and it was a screwup on my part

Mostly they seem to be because someone didn't like someone else's opinion.

A few seem accidental and I have asked Jim to look into moving the report button but haven't heard back from him yet about it.

I use a stylus on my iPad and scroll on the right. I can’t begin to recall how many times the drop down appears “Are you sure you want to report this to the Moderators?” I hope I’ve caught them in time to click “NO”!

Having never reported anything, I wasn't even aware there was the option to cancel it if it was hit by accident.

Conclusion must be then, that it's even worse than I mentioned, if people are STILL reporting what I had assumed to be the accidental reports, because there is absolutely NOTHING offensive in them whatsoever.

That post was made 4 years ago (before MC was even created) by someone who is not a member here and if it wasn't reported to us by a MC member, how would we know about it? We don't read every single post ever made.
