Movies that upset you too much

The Elephant Man came on TV last night and I thought to myself "can I do this again?" Apparently not. After getting myself into a crying, snotty state by the time he meets the stage actress, I only knew too well the god awful scenes that were to follow and had to switch the channel. This is the only movie that has such a gut wrenching affect on me that lasts for days.

A climactic scene in Heavenly Creatures haunted me for quite awhile. Just remembering it still disturbs me.

Bastard out of Carolina (1996)

Poor little Jena Malone ! It's a great but harrowing movie and I have only managed to watch it once.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)

Great movies but too brutal for me.

Never heard of it. I just looked it up. Anything involving a dog is always going heartbreaking

Schinder's List

There was that scene with the tiny, cute little baby girl in a pinkish colored coat who walks to her death (unknowingly) in Schindler's List ...it still makes me angry as hell

It was a fine book and an excellent movie, but I do believe I will avoid rewatching and re-reading that story ever again

*apologies for double post...I don't know what I did there
