It's rare, but I love to do it.. Create my own scenes, perhaps future scenes (and then seeing how it actually plays out).. Usually inserting myself and editing it to expand the imagination. Sometimes I'll wonder about a remake, and how it would be made modern.

One genre where this is always possible, at least in my case, are murder mystery films such as "Clue" (1985).
Each viewing is a new opportunity to explore all the subtle details lurking in the background.

Yeah. Not even intentionally. Sometimes I have to pause because I'm already imagining things - my mind likes to add and edit all on its own. I think, because I'm a writer, it's just my nature to re envision other people's stories.
shareI'm an author, and a reason I stop a movie is so I can write before something happens that might sway my train of thought.
shareI generally do my imagining after the movie is finished, I cant say I pause.
If I really like the movie, I imagine more things going on in that setting. If I'm disappointed but intrigued, I imagine how it could have been done better. And very rarely, I imagine what I'd like to do to someone who made a really painful piece of crap!
I do that too. The only time I pause is if I can't wait!
shareSometimes, I find that I tend to like the first half or two thirds of a film over the endings. This post also reminds me of people who get all butthurt when their fave TV series gets axed without a resolution. Can't they just dream one up on their own?
