Do you really think Detective Pikachu was a great idea? I have not seen it, mainly because it sounded like such an awful idea.

Yeah it was. At least it's sonething new. It's not just Pikachu, but it's wise-cracking Pikachu, and it's a detective! How cool is that? Turns out plot is no better than a minions movie.

Why even bother making Pikachu talking and be a detective solving a frickin' homicide if you just end up using a cookie cutter children's movie plot? Just make it regular Pikachu and make it as a regular Pixar / Dreamworks animation. I bet it would sell better too.

Hopefully the new tv series version will do a decent job and not butcher the storyline.

In Time had a pretty solid idea. And Justin Timberlake was surprisingly good!

I'm not sure what makes it a bad movie. Probably because the budget was too low and it shows. Dilapidated area wasn't shot beautifully, and the futuristic part of the city looked lame.
