A world were people still congregate at the front of the bus, or near the subway doors, despite people wanting to board.
shareInvasion of the Body Snatchers.
shareBartertown might be nice
Food, sport, trade...Tina Turner can be Mayor and I'd totally vote for her...bump off a few ruffians and it seems like a fine place to wait out the end times
Actually, the best view of what the future might look like was in a book I read called "The Architects of Hyperspace." (The title was something of a misnomer, to be honest).
Anyway, it showed a world that was advanced enough that people could live anywhere on earth they wanted, there were underwater cities, colonies all over the solar system and beyond, but Earth was still not united under one world government. In fact, each country had carved its own niche out when colonizing other planets. They also used the gender-less pronoun "person" for everyone, which I found odd to read at the time. So instead of "ma'am" or "sir," people (even aliens and robots) would refer to you as "person."
And they still had people following religions, regardless of what humanist/atheist sci-fi writers/tv producers tell you.
