Anyone following the story in Canada about those two teen murder suspects involved w/ murdering 3 people in northern BC?

Pretty shocking case. They killed an Australian guy and her American girlfriend and another man. Apparently, they headed out east and reported to be in Manitoba by now. Funny thing is the suspects are from Port Alberni, BC which is not far from where I live. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/military-to-provide-aircraft-support-to-rcmp-search-for-b-c-homicide-suspects-1.4526228

reply

they seem like scum

reply

They kinda remind me of Eric and Dylan from Columbine.

reply

I have a feeling they belong to their fan club.

reply

One shocking aspect is that, from what he has said, the father of one of them knew what they were planning, but did nothing to prevent it.

reply

Yeah, the father said something like he thinks his son will die in a shootout with police and he's on a suicide mission. That's a weird thing for a father to say about his son.

reply

If my son had been wearing a swastika armband it would have set off some alarm bells

The story had been reported over here in Europe as well. Creepy

reply

always will be nutjobs

reply

Yep. You don't hear of these kinds of stories happening in Canada. I thought this happened in the US at first.

reply

As long as we have open and rampant gun ownership, we will continue to have random nutjob shootings.
The NRA has let the genie out of the bottle so they need to own it.

reply

I was following the story, until I heard the father of one of the boys making him out to be a victim, making it sound as if he murdered people because of his parents' divorce. Eff that guy. Your boy's a sociopath; he's not a victim.

reply

He thinks his son will die in a shootout with police and that he's on a suicide mission. That's a weird thing for a father to say about his son.

reply

divorce leads to unstable children though.......this is why a strong family structure is important, there will be more of this type of crap.

reply

[deleted]

But most children from divorced marriages don't go out to commit vile crimes like murder.

reply

Respectfully, this doesn't sit well with me. I totally agree that strong family structure is important.
But the lack of it - A = B - speaks of classicism, to me.
Supposedly "underclass" people deserve to procreate like the rest of us.

I've been on a news hiatus for a few weeks now, but I've been keeping tabs on this story. I'm hoping that polar bears get them so that no other humans need be hurt.

reply

Yeah, lots of polar bears in northern Manitoba. They have nothing to lose at this point, so they definitely can kill more people. That community in northern Manitoba are on edge with some of them saying they're locking their doors (the first time they've have to do that!).

I do find it impressive how some 18 & 19 year old kids are able to successful evade the police this far along and cross multiple provinces.

reply

I am impressed to a degree. Considering how much of Canada is uninhabited it's easier to see how people can just disappear.

reply

Still not caught yet? I don't think it will end well

reply

Apparently, now in York Landing, Manitoba according to the news. Police converging in tiny town.

reply

This story plus the the two American teens who killed an Italian police officer plus the guy and possible accomplice who did the mass shooting at the food festival. Horrible news never stops.
