I’m not buying Tom Hanks as Mr Rodgers
He has the look down but his voice is way too deep. Rodgers has a very soft, feminine voice.

Good documentary. I am too old to have grown up with Mr. Rogers and while I came away from the film mostly liking him, I didn't care for his character on his show. Too effeminate. I want to say to him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nqcgUDoV_M or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQAwRpRe9F4&t=0m25s
Not sure why this is in the general? Theres a board for this movie, right?
shareI saw the trailer and immediately hated the film on sight.
Tom Hanks is completely miscast, for sure. And a vibe I got from the trailer was that the movie was just going to dumb Mr. Rogers down into this one dimensional "nice guy" who talks about fee-fees all the time. This is not why the show was good or popular. The whole point of the show was to teach kids to not grow up to be the typical douchenozzle who just hops in and out of his house without getting to know his neighbors and the people who helped make it functional (like the local butcher, mailman, etc.).
I like the casting of Hank. Who'd you cast?
shareHow can people fall for that?
shareHa, I agree. I think its ridiculous that Hanks is playing him. Its impossible to capture Rodgers through acting. He was just different. If you never knew what he was about and saw the show you would think he was creepy to be honest.
shareI think he'll do just fine.
