I'd always pronounced Tsing Tao "Ching Dow" but a Cantonese waiter recently corrected me as "Sing Dow." Anyway, a great tasting lager.

Idk. That's more of GoT knowledge than beer knowledge. As far as I know ale is also beer. Or a more specific type of beer, i.e., not lager.

There is a historical reason. Ale is a warm fermentation method easier and quicker to brew.
