Summer is depressing.

I hate Summer. I hate everything about it. I hate the sun and how it creates certain shadows and changes over the day. I hate morning sun, noon sun and evening sun. I hate people making noise down the street. I hate the smell of garbage, barbecues, and car exhaust. I hate how it doesn't get dark until late. Honestly, every time Summer comes around, I feel like I want to cry. I'm seriously dreading when Summer starts in late June. Being from a country with a cold climate, I welcome snow and blizzards. Winter can't come soon enough.

Interesting..Most of my life I loved summer and waited all year for it to come around..I dreaded winter.
It was like everything went into hibernation in Winter. Even my life.
But then things changed.
My love of summer was directly related to how active I was with what it offered. A group of us would go to Steeple Chases, lakes and oceans, we went swimming and boating and fishing and rafting and hiking etc so it was always busy time and always fun and I always figured if there were water nearby I could always cool down.
But that's all over. Everyone became too busy or too old or too far away and now summer is just a heatwave to dodge in any way I can. Mostly uncomfortable and unpleasant.
I feel your pain.

And as a side note I did think at least I still had gardening to get me through summer. But no, the prettier I make it the more it gets stolen from.

I use to love Summer as a kid, but I think I associated school ending with it. I was blind into thinking sun and warmth meant happiness, but I just generally find myself happier during the Winter.
