Between rap and hip hop?
They seems like pretty much the same thing to me.

One is monosyllabic while the other is two syllables.

you use the F word more in rap.

Correct
The 'N word,' 'bitches' and 'Hoe' seem to be more common in rap too...what a 'lovely' form of music:/

the gun reference gives it some street cred.

One smells like a garbage can, the other smells like vomit. That's the only difference.

Both are equally mediocre music genres that contain too many samples and featured artists while being almost complete devoid of actual instruments. Both are genres that sound like they'll be dated in 10 years and contain too many lyrics about money, bitches and hoes, murder and weed. Most of the songs are incapable of being written by one person, and contain infantile diss tracks. It's right down there with pop, dance and EDM.

What you just did was nail it👍

I'm into rock and it amazes me how rap, hip hop, dance and EDM is ahead of rock in popularity. I'm not a fan of country, but at least that I understand and can appreciate. When some redneck is twangin' on his guitar, I can respect that it's actual music being played most likely written by the artist themselves. In rock you can hear that bass, those drums being pounded, the guitar being shredded. Rap/hip hop, is mostly manufactured of off of a board/computer and scratching a vinyl record.

rap = crap
hip hop = tip top

I always associated rap with West Coast and hip hop with East Coast for some reason.
