Do you think teleportation will eventually be a reality?

Maybe in the far-future it will...but I think there would be a problem teleporting conscious or sentient beings (due to the fact the brain's atoms would be dismantled and reassembled again - thus raising the problem if there person on the destination point really the same person in the departure point.)

reply

They have already managed to do it on quantum level. So it's a reality right now. Technically.

reply

I've heard about teleporting particles such as photons, but I was talking about more macroscopic objects....

reply

Yeah, it's probably gonna happen, but not in our lifetime.

reply

Depending on the definition, it most likely already is one. But if not yet, yes, in the future it will be.

reply

No. You are essentially creating a person/thing which is not/will not be possible.

reply

Yes, it’s just a matter of time.

reply

Seconded👍
You put it way better than I could have

reply

You’re too kind. I liked the way the phrase could be interpreted in several different ways (he says getting all philosophical, lol).

reply

Why Andy, did you go and edit your post to have fun at my expense?
I really need to keep an eye on you Andy😉

reply

You’ve lost me.

reply

I hear this all the time

reply

If they can achieve it for humans I'd like it to burn some calories.

reply

Probably not. I think it more likely they will find a way to open portals in space-time to travel from one place to another instantaneously.

reply

No, not for living beings. It's too dangerous.

reply

This☝️
I mean, who knows what could happen if a bug flew into the teleporter at the last second, right?!?

reply

Exactly. (Be afraid, be very afraid.) Very bad things even happened during teleportation on the original Star Trek.

😎

reply

It's a crap idea all around, even assuming it could ever be possible (I say nope)

reply

I agree.

😎

reply

we are not even close which is good
