Themes or Stories You'd Like To See More Of?

First off, what kinds are hardly ever featured? I like controversial stuff, but done in a delicate way. I like grey, ambiguous. Voyeurism and obsession types always seem to go over the top ("Peeping Tom" is very good). "Bad Boy Bubby" is very good, and also not commercial, but is basically a man who has been locked in his house, so he knows nothing of the outside world, except for whatever his mom tells him. "Dogtooth" is similar, but I think I prefer the former.

Are you all satisfied?

Sometimes when searching for a movie, I feel we could do with more psychological thrillers.

I'd like to see The Red Badge of Courage remade and how they would tell the story now
The last version I know of was about 40 years ago
We would need a good cast and director/cinematographer team to really tell this tale
I think it would be a winner of a film if handled correctly because it deals with themes of patriotism, so called 'cowardice' by a boy and growing up under dire circumstances on a battlefield

This one really does deserve a modern remake

reply

I thought we are supposed to oppose remakes and reboots?

Who said that?

I like what I like, don't you?

A doctor who has the ability to enter a patient's body and to feel and live the illness of that patient. Has this been done ?

I love time travel

I LOVE time-travel too. You should check out some Chinese and especially Korean time-travel movies. There are some good ones in them.

I would recommend 'How long will I love you'. Another one, 'Will You Be There?' moved me so much. Possibly, the most interesting time travel movie I have watched. Yes, it has holes but which time travel doesn't. But, this one is simple and moving love story. I LOVED it.

Thanks for the tips! I’m gonna see if I can track them down

reply

There are lots of others but I have had no time (haha) to watch them.

More movies based around human trafficking. There are some good ones like "Taken" and "The Whistleblower" but I would like to see more. It's a horrendous but interesting topic.

reply

More murder/mysteries that keep you guessing right up to the end. Although they'd be spoiled online these days before you got the chance to see them.

reply

Agree with this but not the Agatha Christie type where you don't know how he/she works out who is/are the murder(s).

Also, real thrillers would be nice rather than these action movies maquerading as thrillers.

reply

Agreed 👍

I'd like to see more stories about the interaction of people, and some interesting leads.
