FILM WHOSE VISUALS REALLY IMPRESSED YOU?

first off, not sure if this is where this should be posted, but anyway.

is there a movie whose visual style you really liked a lot? whether it was cinematography, sets, costumes, etc.?

and not necessarily a movie you liked, but just the visuals, etc.....OR it could be a movie you liked with great visuals..............!!

Grave of the fireflies.

That's a great movie, I just watched it.

reply

Yeah. Everything about it is amazing. Just hard to watch because of how sad it is.

reply

I have read about this one for years and have yet to watch it.

reply

You should, but it really eats at your soul and stays with you afterwards, it's not a film you can simply watch and move on.

reply

Ok.. sounds like it’s right up my alley. I’ll let you know after.

reply

Looking forward to the review :-)

Watched it last night and you are quite right. My first thoughts on waking this morning were of those two poor children.

What is worst is that the book which the movie comes from is based on real events. So you can't even comfort yourself by saying it is just made up. That thing with the sister really happened to the author and he blamed himself for it his entire life.

reply

OMG ... I kept thinking please go back to the aunt. Then there were so many others just allowing it to happen.

Seita had to much pride in what he was doing, all he really had to do was to swallow it, but it got the best of him and caused their tragic fate. I suppose that is the moral of the story. Being stubborn isn't always a good trait and can be your own enemy. Giving up doesn't have to a shame.
