Anyone else love the 50’s-60’s section of Goodfellas?
The music especially, all of the doo-wopping, boaty cars, oversized suits and bee hives.

shareFor some reason the movie loses my interest somewhat in the gritty finatic end section of Henry’s decline which I think was intentional, it’s supposed to be unnerving.
shareScorsese has a wonderful ear for popular music, a real visceral feel for it—especially for The Rolling Stones in their prime.
shareYes he does, PT Anderson was obv majorly influenced with Boogie Nights.
shareBoogie Nights, another of my favorite movies. I’m a student of the history of the modern adult entertainment industry (once upon a time, I was going to write a book on the subject) and BN is VERY accurate in its history.
shareYeah it even has a few former Golden Age porn stars in the cast.
The most startling similarities to the source material (Holmes) are the fast edited sequences showing the highlights of his movies in the “documentary” sequence and the footage of his porn action films.
I liked the 70s scenes a bit more
All of their associations were breaking apart, the music, the clothes and cars were so perfectly fitted for the era
I loved seeing Hill's whole scheme come crashing down around him, old 'friends' plotting and ratting to get out of a big jam...
The entire movie was perfect but that last 25 minutes or so would keep anyone with brains from committing crimes!
I love the entire movie. It's one of my favorites. Ant that part of the movie is probably the best.
