Is it just me, or are there way too many superhero flicks being made nowadays? It's reached the point of being downright sickening. The plots are always so unimaginative and shallow. A film can't solely rely on special effects. Enough with the superhero movies.

shareIt's not just you. But tbh I hate it but I also enjoy it. Like, it's geek heaven to see comic characters interacting in large groups on screen. But it also seems like Hollywood is in a rut. A lucrative, money making rut, but a rut nonetheless. They're creatively stunted about how to make good films that make bank that aren't superhero ones. And the thing is, they're kind of right.
No one is willing to take any real financial risks nowadays. Even if a superhero film fails, the risk doesn't feel great because the next one will make money anyway.
I never liked superhero movies. They're just not for me.
