How many languages can you speak fluently?

In my case: -

English (Mother tongue)
Bahasa Indonesia / Malay
Cambodian / Khmer
Thai
French

reply

None.

I want to learn the Slavic languages (Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Serbian and Macedonian) but it's a big commitment just learning one!

reply

I would imagine that it would be hard going, unless you live in that vicinity or have some connection there.

reply

I didn't know it was possible to not be fluent in anything. Interesting.

reply

Maybe they misread the post and thought it said (or meant) β€˜how many foreign languages are you fluent in?’

reply

That is possible.

reply

The reason I worded it the way I did was to get an idea of where people came from.

reply

I think the title is as clear as it can be, but people can misunderstand anything i guess.

reply

I'm fluent in North Picene.

reply

Cool!

reply

That is very impressive. Multilingualism is an admirable ability and I think fluency in a second language, and not merely its study, should be a mandatory element of education.

reply

It's all about seeing patterns and how all the shapes fit together. Language is similar to a mathematical formula.

reply

Impressive!

For me sadly, only one, but I do admire people who can speak more than one.

PS I speak a smattering of German and Spanish.

reply
