Actors who left hit tv shows, then career tanked

The most famous example was David Caruso who left NYPD Blue with ghe promise of a film career, but that never happened.

Also thinking of Josh Charles who left The Good Wife but hasn’t been doing much since.

I will remember him most for being in The Godfather. His tv career seemed like a step down from that.

I felt bad for Caruso, loved him on NYPD Blue and in Mad Dog and Glory but his ego got in the way. He was a complete arsehole on set all the way through the first 2 seasons before he jumped ship.Jimmy Smits as Bobby Simone was a fine replacement though if not even better.

Yep, but like Farrah she seemed to make the most of her one season on tv to build a lasting celebrity life. I heard her Vegas show was popular and she made a fortune on the thighmaster sales.

Harvey Korman - The Carol Burnett Show.

He was great on that show but he seemed more of a stage, post-Vaudeville actor than a tv guy.
