Quickest Time You Bailed Out On a Movie?

Natural Born Killers - about 10 minutes.

reply

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hated that movie.

reply

Ready Player One - even before it's long ass opening voiceover finished.

reply

if something is a real turkey, i'll bail in a few minutes, could be as short as 2.

some films are just poorly conceived, you get the blast of it immediately.

reply

I usually give a movie 15-20 minutes. Burnt By The Sun (1994) was the last one I bailed on. Same thing with The Shape of Water last year.

reply

So you're not going to give Burnt by the Sun a second chance?

reply

Not in the near future. Give me credit for getting through 'Suddenly, Last Summer."

reply

I'm telling you, 90% of the movie is not at all like that opening scene.

You should've asked me first, I could've told you to stay away from that piece of crap!

reply

I won't write off the idea of getting back to Burnt by the Sun.
Suddenly, Last Summer was my wife's idea. She thought it was awful also.

reply

It really was.

reply

you missed out hugely on 'burnt by the sun'. its a great film. it is also an adaptation of a true story, caught in the stalin corruption & purges. the cat and mouse within is something out of dostoyevsky.

reply

He got turned off by the opening scene about the soldiers. I can see why. I had totally forgotten about it and I didn't like it either when I recently watched the movie again. There were a few moments of Russian humour throughout the movie that didn't really appeal to me (like that guy driving around asking for directions), but luckily the rest of the movie is not like that.

reply

If I see shaky cam, washed out colors, or hear rap music, that's it.

reply

The Passion of the Christ directed by that creep Mel Gibson. I saw it when it first was released. Half the audience left after 10 or so minutes.

reply

Are you referring to his 2006 arrest? Everyone deserves forgiveness.

reply

I don't know anything about his arrest. I'm referring to the movie.

reply

"Casinos": Ten minutes.

"1776": Halfway through.

reply

The only significant one I can remember offhand is the 15 minutes I gave Tropic Thunder.

Hated every second of that 15 minutes.
