Are you a compulsive spender?
I am, indeed.
shareI used to be, when I'd have manic episodes. Nowadays though, I spend virtually nothing on anything aside from groceries and internet access.
shareOnly on collectibles. I used to collect hundreds and hundreds of dvds, music cds, magazines, and playstation games.
After I got married, realising that collecting stuffs is uneconomical, I donated all of 'em. Nowadays I don't spend much on collectibles anymore.
No, I hate to spend money, especially my own.
sharewhen i was younger, i was very much into collecting records & books, & i undoubtedly took it a bit too far at times, though never to the extent that i spent my way into debt.
now, i live a solidly anti-possession style life. i've stripped away everything, & now live with only simple things - i have a bike & a laptop & not a whole lot else.
No, I'm very frugal, and I'm always going to be. I've had to live on my savings more than once, because life and the job market are uncertain.
But I was close friends with a compulsive spender, and she's gone now, and never stopped as long as she lived. But then she married well, and had a husband who let her spend as much as she liked, if that was what made her happy. Few compulsive spenders can get away with it, mostly they come to financial grief at some point if they don't stop.
No, we are practical people.
shareNo, I think I’m more a binge spender. I go for long spells just buying necessities (food, etc) then a few times a year I buy a flock of new outfits, new tech, and other stuff.
