do you still receive gifts ?

My wife and don't buy gifts for each other anymore - I have a closet full of ties. So we usually buy something for the house - this year we bought some things for the living room which needed updating. So we got a new console for the TV, a new coffee table and a new area rug. The living room looks sort of new. The delivery guys came through with a Christmas Eve delivery - just in the nick of time.

Merry Christmas to all.

At work, yes. At home, not anymore. Everyone just buys a gift for the youngest in the family. Gave my little sister one of those colored pens collection. She's been showing interest in art lately.

We do the same thing you and your wife do. We buy something we can both enjoy around the house. Seems so much more sensible since we usually buy the things we want or need for ourselves all year round. This year we decided on a nice comfortable sectional sofa. It's wonderful, and looks great in our living room. We also had fun shopping around for it.
Hope yours was a very nice Christmas. All the best to you and everyone at Movie Chat in 2019!

We are planning next years purchases already.

reply

Yes I do. I get more than I could ever ask for even after telling the gift-givers to tone it down every year saying "It's not necessary." Do they listen? No. They tell me "Be happy that you get them while you can because it isn't always going to last. In the future, you'll be able to look back and say what a joy it was to be so well thought of."

The Twilight Zone Complete series DVD is very cool.

I hope you are not on a sugar high. πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

No Star Trek belt for you! (^_^)
Besides, only a certain number of them were made.

The talk about 'The Twilight Zone' here convinced me to check it out, mention it to family.
Thankfully, no sugar rush but was worried I'd undo all the weight loss I had committed to losing for last years New Years' resolution. Try peanut butter brownies if you haven't. Smucker's has a pretty good recipe somewhere.

We binged all 5 seasons of The Twilight Zone a few winters ago. Great stuff especially if you haven't seen it before.

My first time, a real treat which I plan on cherishing.
