a nice guy on twitter (no one was more shocked than me) just recommended that i read ernie pyle. we were discussing the need for brevity in writing, how most books are bloated & unnecessarily long, & that prompted him to recommend pyle as a master of concision.

so i googled him & found that he seems like a fascinating character & writer, & am looking forward to reading some collections of his writings soon.
