Bohemian Rhapsody or Stairway to Heaven?

Bohemian Rhapsody

I'll go with option number 3, Free Bird, by Lynyrd Skynrd. For a moment, you and a loved one right beside you embrace each other as the world all around fades to black. A spotlight then shines in your presence. Time seems to stop. Worthy of one last slow dance as the party ends.

How 'bout option #4 ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMmTkKz60W8

Not surprised this resonates with you.

When thinking about others, db, definitely!

Reminds me of mellow down-to-Earth fellow I met in college and have kept in touch with since. The kind of man who comes from nothing, never complains or holds grudges against others, the one who'd offer free rides home to people across the other side of the city despite it being far away from his place. He would regularly keep others company out in the bitter cold after 10:00 at night so they wouldn't be lonely while waiting for their pickups. Despite holding strong personal convictions, he always respects other people's viewpoints. Also been known to sometimes do tree trimming and chainsaw work for those unable to do it, only asking for a drink in return.

It's been a while since I last talked to him. I'm going to call him tomorrow and ask how he and his family are doing.

Stairway to Heaven.....I like when the drums kick in, morphing it into a driving rock song, much like a train leaving a station & gradually gaining a powerful momentum.

Greatest guitar solo in the history of rock n roll.

"Greatest guitar solo in the history of rock n roll."

Close, but please don't forget Mick Taylor's incredible lead in Time Waits For No One.
In fact, it's so good, it has never been duplicated -- this is the one song that has never been played live.

(the 3:22 mark is where it really starts happening)

Taylor's amazing work, coupled with Nicky Hopkins' exquisite piano playing, makes this Stones' song top anything else.

Thanks for the link. I'd not heard this song before.

Tasteful solo but overlong and not in the same league as Stairway. I'm not sure why they never performed the song live, but the solo is not particularly difficult to play. (Neither is the Stairway solo, for that matter.)

stairway by far.

I take these sort of questions seriously Angular...it was a great, maybe even brilliant question

But damn!!!
Impossible to answer...

Sorry, both are too perfect, im failing this course:/

awesome question though...

I chose "Bohemian" ... but, it wasn't easy.

I understand completely your dilemma.

No stairway ! Denied!

No Quarter. Kashmier is a close second.

'Stairway' is a fantastic song, but I probably heard it at least 10 or 20 times a week for too many years. I think I'm permanently burnt-out on that tune.

reply

Stairway to Heaven. Bohemian has a parody/novelty song feel about it.
