Battlefield Earth (2000) 2.4/10 vs The Room (2003) 3.6/10

Both were horrendous but I would give Battlefield a 4/10 and The Room 2/10.

reply

I haven't seen other one.

reply

I saw Battlefield and about 30 minutes of The Room. You are not missing a great deal.

reply

Battlefield Earth is better.

reply

thank you

reply

The Room is more entertaining.

reply

I knew you would say that.

reply

Of course. Because it's the truth.

reply

They're both excrement.

😎

reply

well put.

reply

Thank you.

PS But The Room was funny, unintentionally.

😎

reply

I haven't seen either but both seem to have cult followers.
Perhaps they fall into the so bad it's good category.

reply

Well battlefield earth had a professional director and actors, the room did not. So the failure of the first is worse imo.

reply

Never thought of that. No one would mistake Tommy for being professional.

reply

I think you have to look at the ratings as who's watching and why. You have to seek out The Room. It's an oddity, and fascinatingly bad (to me at least). It's also entertaining and endlessly quotable. If you're into "so bad it's good" movies it ain't half bad, for what you're looking for.

Battlefield Earth is something I still see popping on TV when I flip through channels. If you hadn't seen it, and just came across it randomly on your day off, in the mood for an alright movie, you wouldn't be pleased with what you were presented.

Also, as Knish said, Battlefield was made by professional filmmakers. When you compare the actual skill level of the people that made both movies, not to mention budget (73 million for BE), Battlefield was a massive failure. With Wiseau you could at least say "Eh, he tried..."

TL;DR You can have fun with The Room. Battlefield is just frustrating and ugly looking.

reply

Battlefield Earth could have been epic if only they had titled it Battlefield Erf and made it about the lives of hip-hop artists instead of a sci-fi movie.

reply

lol

reply

I thought you had a life. Why would you watch anything rated so low??

reply

Stratego has seen The Room about 11 times ( I have lost count).

reply

I allow it - she's twisted. And proud of it. πŸ’ƒπŸ‘

You've lost count?? I thought you were with her.

reply

She is probably watching it right now.

reply

Then why aren't you with her? Has she thrown you over for someone else?

reply

I'm trying to improve her music and movie tastes. I am failing miserably.

reply

If you're starting with these two selections I think you're going at it all wrong. 😐

reply

My taste in music and movies is just fine.😐

reply

If you're 17.

reply

I'm not into Drake or The Hunger Games, aite? But I'm also not an old fart like you.

reply

Drake would be an improvement. I like it better when you call me Mitch.

reply

It's going to be 'old fart' from now on.

reply

You are the one watching The Bold and Beautiful reruns.

reply

So why are you saying my taste is that of a 17-year old?!

Besides, Neil Young is from the Stoneage.

reply

Neil is timeless. I have hit a nerve, I will drop it.

reply

The nerve here seems to be Neil Young. Now I know your weakness. Bwuahahah!😈

reply

Some songs can be timeless not necessarily the artist. Neil hasn't done anything in years much like Elton John and others.
