Why doesn't she receive more attention? Her first and only academy award nomination was for The Hateful Eight, which she is great in, but she has been giving stellar performances since the early 80s. I absolutely adore Dolores Claiborne, and her performance in The Hudsucker Proxy is hilarious. When she starts prattling on about the "dusty crossroads you've probably never heard of" I nearly piss myself laughing. Don't even get me started on Single White Female. Maybe this is a gay guy thing, like how I really like Cher and Judy Garland, but she seems largely ignored in a way those icons are not.

I don't get why you wouldn't post this under her name. This thread will soon be buried and no one will know your thoughts about JJL. If you put it under her thread, it would be there for quite a long time.

This is where I post. It won't get buried if I bump it like this. And I don't necessarily need people to know my thoughts in perpetuity, I just like to hear from people in general boards, who I know a little. Not to mention I'll get more responses sooner this way.

Which, in my opinion, speaks to the perversity of this GD mindset. We should be visiting the Main Thread, and use this for Everything that doesn't fit a movie/TV topic. But that's just me.

Her first movie role was good,she played a blind woman. Eyes of a stranger (1981) Check it out.
