Songs that make you cry
Johnny Cash's I Still Miss Someone.
shareLet Her Go by Passenger. But only in the Budweiser commercial. Letting that puppy stay with his buddy the horse....oh my, that's when I tear up.
You can find it on YouTube. Tried to post the link but it doesn't work.
Thanks!
That's the song but not the Budweiser commercial. That's when I tear up. Isn't it a lovely song?

Oh Danny Boy
Eileen Donaghy - The Flower of Magherally

Oh Danny Boy, as sung by Eva Cassidy
For Lack O’ Johnny, as sung and performed on the violin, by Vanessa-Mae. Both these songs have verses by the Bard of Scotland, Robert Burns
Somewhere, Over the Rainbow, as sung by Eva Cassidy
Fields of Gold, as sung by Eva Cassidy
These are not mere opinions. I have made clients in my sound rooms cry and sob when I have used these songs to demonstrate audio systems.
Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" gets me emotional too.
shareHurt by Cash also.

...within context
I couldn't begin to catalog them. If I'm alone, I will inexplicably tear up during songs that aren't even close to being sad. Music has always been like a cheat code into my emotions. Weird stuff.
I once read a book titled "This is Your Brain on Music", that delved into the neuroscience behind our emotional connection to music. Very interesting and I do recommend it to anyone who is interested in the topic.
Anything by Adele, such a beautiful voice wasted on shite music.
shareThe Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics.

It may not be the best song in the world but I can honestly tell you that nothing else gives me goosebumps and makes me cry like this one.
I think anyone who has lost a parent might understand.
LOL... years ago, when I lived in London, Rolf Harris and Mike Rutherford were guests on a morning talk show.
The show played the video for The Living Years. (For those who don't know it, it's about the strained relationship between a father and son... you can probably guess how it ends.)
They cut back to the studio and Rolf Harris was a blubbering mess, sobbing loudly and leaning heavily into a clearly uncomfortable Mike Rutherford.
And, yeah, I tear up a bit every time I hear it too...
Poor Rolf, the song clearly got to him but it's possible Mike was feeling uncomfortable for other reasons than a hairy Aussie crying on his shoulder...I mean where were Rolf's hands?
Sorry couldn't resist, great username btw.
