does airplane from 1984 even have a story... why do people like it?

so im watching the airplane from 1984 and this movie in my opinion is just bad... i haven't smiled even once yet and the movie is coming to an end already... what is this? these jokes are just bad and that is a huge understatement... these jokes feel so juvenile they can't even be called jokes... do you like the airplane? if yes why?

Assuming you aren't trolling, Airplane, from 1980 actually does have several stories going on. I always felt that it was a takeoff or spoof on Airport, 1970. The humor in the comedy from 1980 may not be for everyone.
Everyone has their own sense of humor.
Me? I found it funny. I still have to smile when someone say's "Don't call me Shirley"

Well first of all, humor is very subjective. Most people think "Seinfeld" was the funniest show of all time. I didn't think it was funny at all, just irritating. And I was taken to task pretty roughly when I made a post about that.

Most people like this film because it was very funny imho, and was the first of its kind, a parody. As to not having a story, it actually does if you're paying attention. BTW, it's mostly a parody of "Zero Hour" (1957), a movie that had a main character named Ted Stryker, and such famous "not meant to be funny" lines like "We have to find someone who can
not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner."

And yes, it came out in 1980, not 1984.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop posting in MC.

I like it because it's funny. I don't watch tv anymore but when I did I thought modern comedy shows with their canned laughter prompts were about as funny as stepping on a plug. Everyone has their own tastes and some, none at all.
