I (just a few minutes ago) Live-Trapped a Spider

... and I went out to the front lawn and let it fall from around shoulder height.
Should we live-trap spiders and set them free? I occasionally squish a bug when I find they are inconvenient or worrisome, but I've tried to be more compassionate and thoughtful as I've become older.
But I can see how some people may think it's silly to spare the life of a bug when in other circumstances you might dispatch it post haste.
There are also arguments where spiders may be doing you a favor in your home, preying on other bugs.
Any thoughts? This does say --Talk About Anything Here.

I always set spiders free or just leave them in the house, they don't bother me.
I don't need bad spider karma in my life.

Depends where you are in the world and the type of spider it is.

I've had a Kirk and Spock battle with a few of the rascals over the years.

There is a huge spiderweb on my balcony. We have an understanding and are friends. He literally kept the wasps out of my apartment single handedly last year. Those wasps would have gotten inside. He's my f-f-f-f-f-f friend man

This is a conundrum indeed. If I can reach them without them falling into my hair, I catch and release them. Gently, at the furthest end of the yard from my house. But then I think, will they harm someone now that they're free? Should I have killed them to prevent said harm? Spider-murder karma is bad, but spider-as-murderer karma seems just as bad.
