The troll - the enemy of MC
We have the right to defend our boards, right?
shareWhere's my bow?
shareIsn’t it better to shoot mean ugly trolls rather than cute furry foxes?
shareYes,I agree with you.But on the other hand - with foxes I mean - don't get me wrong, but it's a serious problem and we have to protect our yards
I have nothing against foxes,I never hunt for pleasure, but they are trespassing and if authorities do nothing to stop this, well,we have to manage ourselves
That should be a movie. "They Shoot Trolls, Don't They?"

Dewey, 🍻
always. don't touch a cute furry fox!
shareYou better tell that to croft!
Sounds like he's itching to get to work.
He'd never listen to me anyway! croft does whatever he wants to do, whenever he wants to do it.
shareYou'd think with all those strategically placed axes the fox would go the way of the hound.
shareYou'd think so wouldn't you.
Maybe because the fox is sly and the hound is just a hound.
You'd also think the chickens would run into field of axes too..no?
That's a good point. It would save time when it comes to chicken dinner time too. I wonder if he eats the foxes he kills?
My grandmother had a poultry farm and kept Geese, they are excellent guard dogs. Scary buggers!
We don't have foxes where I live now, which is quite strange. We have polecats though, let me tell you they ain't really cats!
His compound must be very popular around the holidays.
I'm sure it would work on almost everything.
Except foxes that is.
Maybe he has an online store for furs and fox meat?
Geese can be scary. So can angry ducks!
Not cats? Are they really poles?
They can often be heard murmuring about Gdansk and Lech Walesa so I suspect so.
I think they're a type of ferret in reality.
I think Croft is super busy trying to fulfil an order for his latest customer Ms C deVille, apparently her last supplier let her down.
That makes sense.
The first thing I think about when I think of croft is solidarity.
I hope that relationship works out for both of them.
She’s more of the person I think of for croft.
It'll be hard for him to adjust seeing as she’s not cardboard.
I thought polecat was British for skunk! What do I know. Do you have skunks there?
The other day I saw a cute video on YouTube about construction workers on a high rise in London (!) who'd halted work because they found what they thought was a puppy down a hole, covered in dried mud. They quickly took the little critter to I think a vet's, who carefully got the mud off the terrified little guy, to discover it was a fox kit!
Happy ending, the wee fox was taken to a wildlife rehab place, and as far as I know is doing just fine. So sweet those guys halted their work to make the rescue! I was surprised there are foxes in the high rise district of London.
Urban foxes are quite common and also quite cheeky and brazen! They get driven into towns and cities because of hunger. Towns and cities equals easy food sources, lots of bins etc. A fox was supposed to have entered a house and attacked a sleeping child in recent years but I really doubt the validity of this because they will trott right past you without a care in the world. Almost tame.
Where I am is an island and there are a few species that we don't have like squirrels, snakes for example. I'm not sure about skunks in the UK in general, I've never seen one. I'm guessing not but I could easily be wrong.
:( I don't like to think of them being so hungry they're driven into cities just to hope to survive. I have a hard time believing that story about a fox attacking a child.
No snakes is a plus. Ditto no skunks. Not that I have anything against either. Skunks are cute and all, but if you surprise one, 😳😷. My dog got skunked 3-4 times. It's very hard to get the smell out, even using the currently best methods advised.
I like squirrels. They're very playful and fun to watch.
Do you have badgers? Hedgehogs?
We have a few foxes in this area. I've only seen two in all the years I've lived here. None in the last 2 places, none so far around this one.
Now I'm going back to thinking about the sweet story of that rescued fox kit!
My guess is that it was just a media fabrication.
We don't have squirrels where I live now but I've certainly llived where squirrels do! No badgers either, when I lived on the UK mainland the only times I saw a badger it was dead in the road. I suppose that makes sense considering they are nocturnal.
Seeing a fox is amazing but of course I know they are hungry creatures and they are capable of doing damage.
Yes we have hedgehogs, but I haven't seen one this year. Sometimes I see traces of them being around though!
We have media fabrications like that here about coyotes.
Did you have red and grey squirrels? I read recently there aren't a lot of red squirrels in the UK anymore :(
Badgers look so cute! And hedgehogs are even cuter. I guess you know there's a big trend of people keeping them as pets. I understand why, but don't think wild animals should be kept as pets.
There aren't enough foxes here for anyone to worry about. I'd never seen one before so was surprised (no one had told me there were foxes) and pleased to see them! Here they're a greyish brown, and both were very shy -- only saw them for a couple of seconds before they fled.
I just saw a mouse in my backyard. Should I have shot it??
shareIt's up to you
shareI think for a mouse you need a hand grenade, just to be certain.
Don't want that little bugger stealing your Gouda!
Was it invited?
If not then yes!
Cute fluffy animals are always invited!🐭
shareYes!

First of all, grrr!🤬, the emoji pistol was an actual firearm. Now apparently the PC police (whoever does the emoji thingy) changed it to a water pistol! Grrr! Again.
But, today I saw one of those “As Seen On TV” ads. I thought at first it was a joke, but to my surprise these things are for real! It could be renamed “The Troll Shooter”.

We may need one of these for MC!
shareI have a water pistol. Where do I aim it?
Don't laugh, it's HIGH POWER.
If any flies trespass in my yard...you're the first one I'll call!
shareNow, now, it works just fine for bigger foe. You didn't think I load it with water, did you?
shareJune bugs?
If you load it with whisky you'll still be the first one I'll call.
It works a treat with both June and stink bugs. I should tell you it's untested with your variety of stink bugs though.
Stink and June bugs are next of kin to trolls, so I'm all set to help defend MC.
(What did I miss? Did we have an infestation earlier?)
Doesn't look like they're going away anytime soon.
shareWe can't let our guard down!
We fired our guns and the trolls kept a-comin'
There wasn't quite as many as there was last night
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the internet to the filboards site!

shareOf course.
I knew somebody would get it.

Just for you, kspkap and godewey!
Deputy 👮🏻♂️Dewey Boy said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets till we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'till we seed their faces well
Then we opened up the squirrel guns and really gave em
Well we
Yeah they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a 🐰couldn't go
They ran so fast that the Mods couldn't catch 'em
So they ran from MovieChat to find another troll ....Hut-two, Hut-three....
Yes!!
Well done my dear!
That last line was a doozy to write in order to get it to flow with the rest of the verse. Maybe if I could have stopped singing the thing, the outcome would have been easier to achieve! It was and always will be one of my favorites. Takes me back to many fun memories of my high school years!
When one of my grandsons reached the age where he could understand the words he would ask for it to be played over and over and over again! Ad infinitum! At the age of 2 yrs he could sing it word for word!
For nostalgia’s sake: “The Battle of New Orleans”
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VL7XS_8qgXM
It is a good fun song.
Your grandson sounds adorable.
Not many two year olds have this song in their repertoire.
