Multiple claims to fame

What actor is known for many things? Some as much as others? I will start with Ian McKellan. Originally known for a lot of stage work, then known for being Gandalf and Magneto. Many things in between.

reply

Sean Connery rocked a tux better than any guy in history in the Bond films and was freakishly horrid looking in thigh high boots and leather bondage gear in Zardoz...
I can only assume the Bond wardrobe department jumped the Zardoz wardrobe crew in the studio parking lot one day...frankly, the Zardoz wardrobe crew deserved a big punchout;)

reply

Is he really known for Zardoz though? I know it, but I'm not sure people identify him with it.

reply

Hmm...I feel like movie fans should know of the immortal Connery and they should recall that he took the Zardoz role and approved that crazy outfit to distance himself from the suave, classy Bond role he disliked so much
He wanted to look like a complete lunatic barbarian and was hating the 007 scripts at the time

I thought this was pretty well known movie trivia
Perhaps i was wrong

I will try to think of another Pete

reply

It's good, but c'mon, there's gotta be others out there that really have multiples. How about this: Arnold Schwarzenegger, body builder, movie superstar, governor of California.

reply

Chuck Connors...

Played in the NBA.
Played in MLB.
Actor.

reply

Pretty obvious Pete but you are awarded one point
I usually aim for the higher hanging fruit...more fun and challenging my way
Carry on...

reply

We could add adulterer, to be fair

reply

Well as this is a movie thread and yours to boot, lets leave the personal stuff out of it

Enjoy dude👍

reply

I love the dude, but a cheater should be called out fair and square.

reply

Ok Pete

I prefer to let the people that are actually in the relationship (as opposed to you and i who are merely chatting) do the calling out

That stuff is none of my business

reply

It's just pretty harsh to father a baby with the nanny. His wife deserved better than that.

reply

I dont know much about all of that...but i did hear idle work banter

I also dont care

Loved a bunch of his films and his problems are his own

Ha!!!
Very likely
What a hell of a Halloween costume that would be though im sure you could get arrested on suspicion of being a creep

reply

But, that Zardoz costume made a helluva truss in a pinch.

Milla Jovovich from a top model to a successful actress and mother

reply

Fair enough, but I think I know her as Alice primarily.

reply

Milla also had a musical career.
Here's a tune from her cd, The Divine Comedy ...
It's Your Life - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdXsjFRQA6g

I actually saw her in concert -- she opened for Crash Test Dummies back when she was 19 years old.
The show was at the Pompano Beach Ampitheater here in South Florida. An outdoor venue is a bad choice during the summer considering that it's right in the middle of our rainy season. But although there were threatening skies and some rain, Milla played her full set. CTD on the other hand, played one song and left the stage because of the puddles. Granted, standing in or near water is not the smartest thing to do when thunder storms are in the vicinity, but Milla had the guts to complete her show.

Anyway, I liked her set so much that I bought her cd. It's Your Life was definitely my favorite song on it.
Oh yeah, we also got a full refund for the concert tickets due to Crash Test Dummies cancelling.

reply

I know about her musical career, but this is not her "forte"

reply

Frank Sinatra

reply

As a central rat pack figure, he's very well-known. As a double or triple threat, sure, but aren't all his claims to fame really one?

reply

[deleted]

I only know the movie. Please do extrapolate.

Interesting, thanks MJF

reply

MIchigan, I know that story. The fiction of Puzo really did parallel what had been going on in Sinatra's life while he was married to Ava Gardner in the 50's. He was having a real low in his singing career. He fought hard for his role in From Here To Eternity.
As for the producer and the horse's head????? That would be PUZO!

reply

Oscar/Golden Globe/Grammy winner - much more accomplished than Ian McKellan

"Self made billionaire."

The Trump Family Fortune

Trump's father, Frederick Christ "Fred" Trump, made a sizable fortune by building and selling housing for American soldiers and their families in World War II. It was at his father's real estate company that Trump got his start in business. In 1971, he took control of his father's apartment rental company, Elizabeth Trump & Son Co., and later on, he renamed it The Trump Organization.
