Character in a movie you're suppose to like but you instead despised

Nothing infuriated me more than when "Rear Window" ended and Jefferies, the single smuggest, coldest, rudest, most unpleasant character James Stewart ever played -- and that's say something -- was still alive. Today, a character like Jefferies would not only have died but his death probably would have qualified as the biggest crowd pleasing moment of the entire flick. People would be exiting the theater afterwards with sentiments like "Well, everyone died, but at least Jefferies died the worst." And the response would be along the lines of: "I was hoping though his fate was something a little more excruciating than being set ablaze with a flame thrower. And couldn't the camera have lingered on his burning body a little while longer? Ah well ..."

The Turnip

He was a royal shit to her. I don't understand why she took it & why he insisted on giving it to her again & again & again.

Were you originally going to go by Coburn but backed off because you worried James Coburn's estate might sue?

The main character in Limitless (2011) played by Bradley Cooper. He took himself way too much importance he came out as a dick in the end of the movie.

This was an example of a movie that had taken it's happy ending into the extreme!

I completely agree.

I kind of went back and forth between hating and liking Jax Teller in Son of Anarchy.

There are plenty of films where the jerk gets punched even though he hasn't put his hands on anyone yet.

I've said this on the Rear Window board, I really don't think he was THAT awful to her. There were a couple of times he was kind douchey to her, but that had to do with his insecurity about their relationship and the fact he was bound to a wheelchair. And honestly, he did have a point, she was rather naive about it all.

Each and every disaster movie has main characters who survive, but should've died instead because they're so freaking annoying. The remake of The Poseidon Adventure comes to mind.

Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) from Temple of Doom

Her constant state of panic and frequent shrieking were really annoying in an otherwise excellent movie
