Favorite song from each decade

This was a very hard list to compile, for certain decades anyway. Be strict, pick one per decade. I know this may change often, but how do you feel right now?

Before the 50s, I am not familiar enough with popular music to have opinions, school me.

Here's mine:

50s
Be-Bop-A-Lula - Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps

60s
A Day in the Life - The Beatles

The rest to follow.

I haven't posted in a bit, mainly because I was feeling jaded and missing my favorite members. Hearing from you is a huge boost for me. Thanks for dropping back in buddy!

Good songs too, I especially love The Kinks

reply

Nice to hear from you too.
Looks like a few of the missing have come back this weekend.

Maybe it's the magic of Cinco de Mayo!

reply

Feliz cinco de mayo! Shogun's been trying to draw me back, but you're maybe the only one that got me excited enough to return. Sho has been a good friend, but I have a fair amount of nemeses apparently

reply

He's a good guy. Great person to have on your side.

I don't know what happened but I wouldn't worry about the others. You can't please everybody.

Too much wasted time worrying why the few who don't like you ....don't like you.
Time that could be spent enjoying the people who do appreciate you.

I usually can find some sort of common ground with most people.
Accept people for who they are and what they can offer.
Some people don't have that ability or don't care enough to make an effort.

Either way it's not worth giving up something you like because of others.

reply

I just got a bit weary, every time I would post anything, the first 5 responders would be people who were not engaging and immediately trying to kill my thread, and just downright harassment. It's hard to ignore those who dislike you if those are the only people you hear from, but I get where you're coming from. My nemeses have pretty much figured out I'm giving them no energy and have started to fade. Like Freddy Krueger, I turn my back and they lose their power. Dream skills.
