Best movie in a snowy locale?
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
shareHow about the revenant and ice harvest..and also you should add thrillers in snowy location to your post..thats the best combo...crime in snow
shareA Simple Plan ... though it pales in comparison to the book.
shareIce harvest tried to be a moody crime movie but doesn’t works
shareI cannot do "Simple Plan." It's too sad when they discover the money is marked. (They didn't have time to do a lot of marking, but, they did mark a portion.) I've thought about their predicament a thousand times and I can't come up with a suitable solution. No way I burn it. The sight of her back in those book racks makes me ill. The only thing that's even possible is to take some of it to a good sized city 500 miles out and under heavy disguise break a decent number of large notes over the course of a weekend, just Sat+Sun. The change would be laundered. Do that over the course of a couple years in different cities and they'd have a nice nest egg.
I've grieved over that damn movie.
Wind Chill (2007)
shareDoes the Battle on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back count?
shareI'd say yes. Though Hoth is only a small part of "Empire" it makes enough of an impression that when many people think of the movie they often think of snow (it could also be that in spirit "Empire" is definitely the chilliest "Star Wars" outing).
The Spy Who Loved Me. Yeah, the snow scenes are scant ... but arguably the movie's most iconic moment is Bond skiing off a gigantic cliff (and pre-CGI no less).
Fargo and A Simple Plan
shareIce Station Zebra
I read somewhere that is one of the movies Howard Hughes repeatedly watched during his crazy hermit period. I've never seen it, I'm a bit OCD and I don't wanna take any chances.
shareIce Station Zebra was my last movie title riddle: "A striped horse who is posted to an installation in Antarctica."
