We had 2 shark attacks (minor wounds) on Fire Island this summer.

My work buddy lives out that way... He is a lifelong Long Islander and never goes in the water and i sometimes tease him for being a wimp lol
He gave me a proper 'I told you so' just recently!
The Meg was really fun, silly action and thrills...well worth a look-see👍

I avoid the beach because the sand makes me rashy and i burn quickly but i must take the family a couple times a year:(
Attacks are fairly rare here on the East Coast, USA though
South Africa is shark attack central
I would never go to the beach there😳
